My poor boy Seamus has developed Epilepsy and now has to have medication for it. He is partially sighted from we were told an accident when he was trialing and now he has eplilepsy. We don't know if the Epilepsy is from the same accident or if he would have developed it anyway. He has to have Epihen very twelve hours and hopefully that will keep his seizures under control.

Seamus has had his medication changed twice now but is still having fits. I am changing vets with him as i am not happy with the one I have now, when she first put him on Epiphen it was below the remedial dose no idea why but it was a waste of my time and money and did not help poor Seamus. She then put him on the lowest remedial dose which was fine as I do not want to over medicate him but he is still having fits so needs to up the dose again. I just feel the vet is not very understanding of Greyhounds as she knew nothing about their bloodwork and as for putting him under the remedial dose that was just stupid. He sees the new vet on Monday so will let you know how he gets on.

Seamus is still having fits and he has had his medication increased, he is also on Potasium Bromide. I changed vets wih him and the new one seems to be quite good. The last two fits were very upsetting as he got bitten by one of the other dogs (don't know which one) so we have decided that at night and when we are out he will be left away from the others. Its not really their fault but they just freak out and panic. Hope fully the new medication will keep his fits to a minimum.
