trouble registering?

Postby LisaLQ on Tue Oct 21, 2008 9:01 pm

I understand our link has been posted on other forums recently to gather a few new members - and some are having problems registering. Some of these forums require I send off my driving license (not a driver so dont have one) so I cant get on there to let folks know my email address should they be having problems.

I recently reset the registration process to accept new members without having to authenticate them (eg. wait for me to activate them, email etc). However, there seems to be some sort of anti-spam system as part of the process, whereby you have to type in what you see, or work out a sum, or something. I dont think I can remove this - but if you are having problems, please |email me| and I'll see what I can do.

Sadly, I am the worlds worst forum manager - phpbb3 is like another language to me, not a clue - so I'll do my best. Worst comes to the worst, email me with your email address, and I'll attempt to register for you.

If anyone has mentionned problems on another forum - feel free to pass on my hotmail address (groovygreys@hotmail.com)...

Just an update to this about the anti-spam part of the registration.

Yesterday I worked out how to turn it off, and did so in order to hopefully sort out the problems registering. However, in doing so, I woke up this morning to a forum full of spam/porn/drugs links and had to go through and manually delete several new "members" (ideal name for them).

I've had to turn the anti-spam system back on, I'm afraid it will have to remain part of the registration process. If anyone cant get past this stage or has problems registering, please email me (as above).
